"Multimedia: From Wagner to Virtual Reality”

 This weekend we read some of " Multimedia: From Wagner to Virtual Reality”. So far I am finding it incredibly fascinating to learn the history of the very technology that we use today. It is very crazy to think about how quickly we have advanced through technology and media in a relatively short time. Even the title itself "From Wagner to Virtual Reality" speaks to the expansion and innovation of technology. 

Wagner was truly ahead of his time. The way he used machinery to enhance theater performances paved the way for artists ahead of his time, including today. All in all my initial thoughts of our reading this weekend were just how much we have evolved as humans, and how how ahead of their time people such as Richard Wagner were.

Meditation

  I recently tried out the 45 meditation session that Professor Dinehart sent to us, and I have to say that I really enjoyed it. While I don't meditate very often, I found that this particular session helped me to relax and clear my mind. The relaxing white noise helped me focus. By the end of the session, I felt much more relaxed and centered, and I found myself looking forward to trying the meditation again in the future. With all the school work I've had recently it was nice to take a step back and relax. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the experience, and I would definitely recommend it to others who are looking to incorporate meditation into their daily routine.

Portrait Illustrator

  I hate Adobe Illustrator. Plain and simple, this is the piece that made me absolutely hate this program. Making a landscape wasn’t too bad, but when it came to portraits I had a miserable time. This took me more time than I care to admit and it is atrocious. I really couldn’t figure out how to do a nose or skin. I just had no idea what I was doing. I watched multiple YouTube videos and I just could not get it right. I hope I never have to use illustrator again.
